Iconic for trails and ultra-running! The NAO® RL rechargeable headlamp provides 1500 lumens of brightness and weighs just 145 grams. Comfortably balanced, the headband is easily adjustable and maintains excellent support throughout long and committing races. With REACTIVE LIGHTING® technology, the brightness automatically adapts to the ambient light. Manual operations are reduced and burn time is optimized. Additionally, red lighting at the rear of the headlamp allows you to remain visible at night.

Lighting for movement automatically adapts to ambient light:
- Wide, uniform beam so you can comfortably see up-close or at your feet
- Mixed beam (flood and focused) allows for proximity and distance vision for movement
- Three white lighting levels: MAX BURN TIME, STANDARD (better power/burn time balance), and MAX POWER
- Longer burn time, greater visual comfort, and less manual operation with REACTIVE LIGHTING® mode, which allows the light sensor to automatically adjust brightness and beam pattern, optimizing battery usage
- Minimum burn time of 5 hours in REACTIVE LIGHTING® mode (STANDARD level), built to power through long activities like trail running and ultra-running
- Red lighting, continuous or strobe, at the rear of the headlamp, and a separate button to quickly turn it on or off

- The battery pack is in the rear to distribute the weight of the headlamp over the entire head, making it balanced and comfortable to wear

Decent Head Torch

I bought this head torch specifically for night orienteering and have used it once. It is very lightweight, secure and comfortable to wear. It gives a good amount of light for map reading and seeing the terrain when used in non-reactive mode on maximum power, as recommended for this type of activity. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that it had used 3 of 5 battery bars for around 70mins of use so I am not sure it will last for a full 2 hours on maximum power which is the indicated time given. Otherwise, a really nice product to use.

Fantastic headlamp that feels nicely balanced due to the battery at the back and the light overall weight. Nice choices in light intensity: 3x for Reactive & normal; for everyone what he/she wants. With a second battery, perfect to get through the night with - more than - sufficient lighting of the site. Done with the main lighting!

It looks and feels robust and professional. It is such a well-designed headlamp, easily rechargeable, and I like the fact that the battery can be used as a power bank to charge other devices. Although it's pricey, I feel it's worth the money if you plan to run ultra races and train in the dark hours.

The previous Petzl Tikka RXP had a wide beam module and an independent long-range, focused beam switched on by the RL. In the NAO RL model there is no such division of beams. RL works great and lights up the whole space in front of us. Looking towards the light, you can not notice that the headlamp is on, turning your head towards the unlit side, the headlamp illuminates the entire space. Great equipment.

Amazingly light and well designed headlamp. Adjusting to any head size or shape is super easy. Light quality is incredible with the reactive lighting being very responsive to changing conditions. The red tail light with strobe or steady light is great - very visible and meets the needs of ultra races that require a tail light. Amazingly lightweight and well designed headlamp. Hi Highly recommend this for running in wet difficult conditions, here on wet, damp Irish countryside roads lights power really a greats bonus plus you have great feeling of safety as cars take better note of you at night.

Hello, Negative, the battery does not allow it to be connected to both the lamp and a power bank. Personally I bought a second battery for safety. And on a race this summer the battery allowed me to last almost all night (battery change around 4:30 a.m.). And note that the battery can be used to recharge your watch or a phone for example (like a mini power bank). In any case, in terms of lighting, this lamp is really great! Good day.

No lamp is waterproof, but this lamp has a high level of water resistance and capable being used in wet conditions but not capable of being submersed As always, it has a lot to do with how well you look after your gear
