Escalante 1.5 is a women´s running shoe that incorporates important features. One of the characteristics that this shoe has for neutral pronators is that it has been created especially for the anatomy of the female foot.
The upper of the sports shoe includes mesh layers that make it a fully breathable piece that keeps your feet dry and fresh for longer. At the heel, this women´s shoe has a cup that improves the grip of the foot and facilitates the transition. As for its cushioning system, it includes the EGO midsole of the brand that provides high performance.
Inside, your feet will have more space; Toe Box technology allows you to improve the position of your fingers, keeping the big toe straight and also manages to provide you with greater stability and power at every step. This hiking shoe has a standard width and its closure is the traditional one with laces distributed along the instep.
With the Escalante 1.5 weve taken Altras best-seller in history and revamped the upper to make it even better. The brand new upper is more breathable, highly reflective and features a sleeker heel cup for increased performance and comfort. First impressions on the shoes are great. You have a natural feeling because of the zero drop, but still a good protection from the sole of the shoe. The wide toe-box gives a relaxed feeling on the front of the foot. And although I don't have wide feet the still fit like a glove. Hope to do a long time on these ones because they make me want to run even more.

having ,worn altra trail shoes for a couple of years i realised i could also get altra road shoes! so much better than all the other brands i have tried and i much preferred these to the altra one that i also ordered (they felt stiff and quite clumpy compared). the escalante offer comfort and a natural feeling of running. i haven't completed any long distances yet but i'm sure they will be great!

they are really comfortable from the first wear and have lots of space for the toes. definitely force the calf to work more than in other shoes. the shoes are quite light and great for street running and asphalt. the platform may feel a bit rubbery though. as for 0 drop, it is trying to support the foot at the same time being neutral. i have done so far over 250km in them which included some half marathon but i would like the platform to be a bit more flexible in feel. nevertheless i would still recommend them for the overall comfort.
