What is a pinlock lens?

A Pinlock lens is an anti fogging system that is used in motorcycle helmet visors. It is a thin, clear plastic film that is inserted between two pins that are mounted on the inside of the visor. The Pinlock lens creates a sealed double glazed like layer on the inside of the visor, which helps to prevent fogging and provides clear visibility in humid or cold weather conditions.
A Pinlock lens is created from a moisture wicking material that is connected to the helmet visor with pins to make an air tight suction. The moisture wicking material works like a sponge to soak moisture in the atmosphere before it is collected inside the helmet and begins fogging the visor. The internal region of the Pinlock lens is striped with silicone padding which makes a double glazed window like impact.
The pins on the lens enable you to effortlessly set the lens so it delivers the best possible seal but also creates the lens comfortable to fix and unfix. These lenses also come in an anti scratch pinlock and this style protects your pinlock from any kind of scratches and damage. You can buy anti scratch pinlock from Shark, Givi, Schuberth, Nexx, and ls2.

Types of pinlock

With a pinlock you can discover three primary levels of execution from the lens. These types of pinlock indicate the level of fog resisting execution you acquire from the lens.
Pinlock 30 provides basic fog opposition and is excellent for the infrequent motorider.
Pinlock 70 is excellently fitted for commuting motoriders as it delivers more extended and increased performance.
