The Salomon XA Pro 3D Goretex are the trekking and fast hiking shoes that you must choose if you are looking for durability, grip and waterproof protection in any weather situation that you find. They are designed to fight wet areas, with mud or even snow, where their lugs give you the support and stability that you need.
The French brand chose Contagrip Ma sole, whose material is the most durable of this range, allows you to walk on all type of terrain where its transverse and perimeter lugs, even on the sides, offer you very much traction, adherence and safety that you do not measure when facing a new surface.
Another of the great qualities of this trail running shoe is its advanced 3D chassis in the midsole to increase the stability of the foot in more complex and rocky terrain, and ideal for slopes or downs. Salomon selected EVA injected and molded in the midsole for moderate cushioning.
But what more stands out in this mountain shoe is its Goretex membrane that prevents the entry of the water and whit which you can step on any puddle without getting wet. The protective toecap and the Sensifit and Quicklace systems are another seal that Salomon chose in this shoe to provide adjustment and absolute protection.

Very good shoes for hiking and trail running over very long distances. They are comfortable and solid. The sole has a good grip especially on the rock and they are very stable. For me the goretex is a plus even if the shoe takes a little longer to dry when it is wet.

very comfortable, I have a wide foot but no worries. withstands rain well and soggy passage. 40 kiosks minimum per week over the whole year, about 2000 kiosks or a little more; moreover I have made 130kgs 1 pair per year for 10 years. on the other hand, for two years I have only been doing 10 months instead of 12 or even 13; therefore loss of quality over time. after 10 months smooth soles and the shoe begins to open at the front on the sides. slippery sole on smooth ground or large stones. effective lassage system. despite these small flaws I would not change.

I have tested the non-goretex model several times and have always been satisfied. Solid, good grip, good foot. Perfect for running in scythes (the end of reinforced shoes protects well) By cons these shoes are quite heavy (I do not recommend road races) I took the model goretex to have the foot dry qd I run in the snow ( you have to add the small Salomon gaiters to prevent the snow from getting back into the shoe at the ankle). Also tested with snowshoes but the shoe is too low and the strap can interfere above the ankle (but it goes for a return of qques hours)
