I hesitated quite a bit between different models, I fell in love with the petzl, and I don't regret it at all. Lights very well, with three white lighting modes, and two red (fixed and flashing). The choice of lighting modes is easy. Lock function by long pressing the button. Very nice headband.

Comfortable and powerful headlamp given its size (obviously you can do more, but you will have a battery in the back and extra wires). She holds her head well. The autonomy with the supplied battery is more than enough for my needs. The color rendering is reasonable and the red LED an interesting bonus. I have not tested its weather resistance, but one thing is for sure, do not drop it in water, it is not waterproof.

I appreciate the lighting and the 3 power levels, as well as the presence of the red lighting. I went for this model and this brand because it was made in France (50% of the cost price at a minimum) and the hybrid battery/battery power supply. I regret the poor quality of the case, the plastic does not show any robustness to this product. I had found a real French brand, more robust, I did not take simply because the only battery power supply.

My main use for this head torch is running, I took on a challenge to run every day in December which in the UK means running after work in the dark for me, I was fed up with the head torch I had with was like running in a tunnel of light, the Petzl actik throws a great spread of light, for me forget the lumens, the pattern is more important, on its mid setting I get plenty of light for pavement running and when on high power I would happily tackle technical trails, at this price point I haven’t seen anything better than the actik core. Very happy with my purchase, would recommend.

So far so good, I run country lanes in the dark where there are zero street lights and these light up the total width of the lanes. First time buyer of head gear and all good so far, light weight and the recharge battery is fine. Good option to be able to use standard batteries too when swapping out the recharge one.

Great device, I use it to work, that's why the 3 different intensities come in handy, it has a very subdued light and the most powerful light a lot outdoors. It allows, if you carry the mobile charger and usb cable on top, to charge the battery both in the laptop PC, plug or cigarette lighter of the car, also this battery weighs 10 grams less than the 3 AAA batteries, they have improved the material of the tape for the head that we hope the rubber does not run out with use, it is also reflective.
