Although the Pegasus series is known worldwide for the excellent performance of its running shoes, the presence of this mythical Nike sub-brand in the outdoor marketplace had been relatively hit-or-miss. Determined to change this, the Oregonians launched in 2019 a new, revamped model of trail running shoes that leaves the swoosh brand in a very strong position:

The Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail.

Visually, the Pegasus 36 Trail are quick eyecatchers thanks to a minimalist, modern design, in which strategically-placed TPU reinforcements at the heel and toecap are attached to a perforated mesh to provide what is perhaps one of the most breathable, comfortable uppers of any Nike product to date.

The heel reinforcement has been particularly praised by runners and athletes for its smoothness and great support of the Achilles´ tendon; while a new, innovative Flywire configuration - closer to the tongue, slightly aligned under the upper’s surface - considerably reduces its profile to prevent it from becoming entangled in vegetation and sharp rocks.

In the sole unit, Nike has provided two Zoom Air units - one in the heel, one in the forefoot - embedded in a thick layer of Cushlon foam to ensure outstanding cushioning over mountainous terrain. The outsole remains mostly unchanged; nevertheless, a fine retouch in the layout and shape of its cleat pattern provides greater traction on the foot’s heel and outer edge areas. An icon trades pavement for path with the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail. Give your feet some fresh air in a perforated mesh upper, as double Zoom Air units underfoot cushion your stride. Opposing lugs on outsole optimize traction on your uphill climbs.

Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail Running Shoes

Good grip, precise and comfortable

From the first moment, with the first steps, very good sensations, a very precise footprint and good cushioning. I have tried them for two days, on flat mixed terrain, 20Km, and in the mountains 16Km, 450m of unevenness. Very good support both up and down, with a good grip. Also fantastic on asphalt and cement. I like them better than the Nike Vomero I had.

Bought for my husband for trail running, already feels the cushioning compared to his last trainers, and the grip looks great for trail.

I come from a pegasus 35 that I have used both road and trail pot. They were good in both fields, but when I gave them the trail use, I noticed that they lacked a certain grip in more sandy areas, loose pebbles, etc. The first day that the 36 trail arrived, I went straight to run on the road and you can tell the difference, apart from the fact that they are very comfortable and with a good starting response.

very comfy and neutral running shows

this is my 2nd pair of the pegasus 36 trail running shoes, and even though most of my running is done on pavement, these are some very comfy and neutral running show, offering a lot of comfort for my short/ middle distance running (up to 15 km)

Door to trail hybrid runner

Probably the best option for those looking for a door to trail runner. Fit is a bit more generous than Peg Turbo, however this is in the form of extra pointiness of toe, so I'd still say go your normal size unless you have a pointy foot shape, then you could go down half a size from Preg Turbo.

Excellent fire trail runner

I prefer running on trails that allow you to get into quick tempo rather that technical trails. Road shoes tend to work fine, apart from trails with mud and rocks ( not just gravel). These meet that need without deviating too far from a traditional road shoe. The added rubber on outsole probably leads to this shoe feeling a bit more ridgid than road shoe. I also have Pegasus Turbo 1 in same size and peg.Trail run slightly longer.

Training about two weeks with this shoes and i have only good impression.Very comfortable running shoes, soft feeling and good looking. The size corresponds to declared.
