The Leadville Vest effortlessly fills the gap in your layering system for spring skiing or alpine hikes. We used windproof and water-resistant GORE® WINDSTOPPER® with a wicking backer and panels of breathable M2 softshell underarm. The combination of materials results in a zonal construction that renders weather protection and breathability in the areas you want it most.

GORE-TEX®®:



What is it?



At the heart of GORE-TEX®® fabric is an extremely thin membrane thats durably waterproof, windproof, and breathable. It has over 9 billion pores per square inch. To construct a GORE-TEX®® laminate (fabric), they bond the GORE-TEX®® membrane between high-performance lining and shell textiles. Every stitch in a seam is a potential leak. Thats why for durable waterproofness GORE-TEX®® products rely on GORE-SEAM® tape applied by specially trained manufacturers in certified factories.



How does it work?



The 2-layer construction, designed for a wide range of outdoor activities, uses a specific GORE-TEX®® membrane bonded to the outer material and protected on the inside by a separate lining. The separate lining ensures better wearing comfort and versatility.



The 3-layer construction, designed for more demanding activities, uses a specific GORE-TEX®® membrane sandwiched between the outer material and backer material. 3-Layer provides added durability without additional weight or bulk.
