Enhance your triathlon experience by pairing HRM-Tri with your compatible device1. The HRM-Tri stores heart rate data when underwater, then forwards it to the device. Our smallest and lightest module fits within the width of the strap. Its soft, rounded edges and covered seams make the strap super-comfortable out of the water, too.
Running Dynamics
HRM-Tri also has an accelerometer in the module that measures torso movement to calculate 3 running metrics:2
Cadence — the number of steps per minute. It displays the total steps (right and left combined).
Vertical oscillation — the bounce in your running motion. It displays the vertical motion of your torso (measured in centimeters). HRM-Tri is compatible with several other fitness products but will only display heart rate when paired.
Ground contact time — the amount of time in each step that your foot spends on the ground while running (measured in milliseconds).

After a number of cheap heart rate monitor tires this garmin purchased. Works great, fits perfectly and does not cause any interference. Is used in combination with garmin edge 1030 and a garmin fenix 6. Due to circumstances the delivery took a little longer than usual but I have always been kept well informed.

The heart rate monitor itself is excellent. The pulse indicators with it are certainly better, clearer and more correct than with a wrist heart rate monitor. I like the versatility - running, biking, swimming - everything is available. The only negative is that the heart rate monitor is non-removable, built into the belt, and if the characteristics of the belt deteriorate, it will be problematic to replace it.

Although I prefer not to use a chest strap (and therefore purchased a fenix 5) I found that the optical HR of the fenix 5 is not good enough to really use it for sports. With this heart rate band I finally see the heart rate trend again at interval training sessions. An additional advantage is that I can also use this when swimming and that additional running information is released! Delivered quickly anyway!
