those shoes are perfect outdoor shoes - approach, hiking, even mountaineering in warm conditions, trial running, snow running, you name it. they hold your feet and ankles like no other and make you feel supported and safe. yes - buy a size up! one downside is that the sole wears out quickly if you use them as street shoes, I got a second pair now because I couldn't find a good enough replacement, totally recommended
