I used a few trail shoes before I came across the Cascadia range a few yes ago. The Cascadia is a great trail shoe for me. I run on UK trails and this shoe works all year round, unless its bone hard where I will switch to a road shoe. Very good grip in heavy mud and I feel confident the shoe won't slip. I can also run on the road for a few miles if needed, such is the comfort. I can't on my Salomon SC3, the lugs are two much. Toe protection is decent. This is the first time I've had the goretex version, which I only bought because the price was so good. I dont mind wet feet but the gtx version definitely keeps my feet drier for longer, a plus. I also like the lace pouch, nice touch and it works. I wore the shoe for a few hours but didn't feel it necessary to break the shoe in. I've done about 40k in the shoe over 3 runs. It's as I expected, excellent. Overall, the Cascadia 13 is a big thumbs up.
