I really like to walk in them. Even in the winter. With the membrane in the summer it can be a little too warm. I have already recommended several friends and they are also satisfied with their purchase.

No more gaiter traps

They are wide and comfy and light, waterproof and they breath well. One very strange and stupid omission (in all the new Altra Lone Peaks) are the gaiter traps. Up to the LP5, Lone Peaks had a Velcro gaiter trap on the back, two attachmentpoints on the side and a little ring on the front to attach gaiters. All gone now. Using straps that run underneath wears them out quickly because of the flat sole. So only three stars, until they bring back the front and rear attachment points.

Purchased boots after being impressed with the Altra Lone Peak Trail Shoes and wanted to buy a vegan boot. These boots are super light and super comfortable, yet the least sturdy boots I have ever owned. Less than 100 miles walked and the top toe crease on each boot has split exposing the inside of boot. The boot made a popping noise from new suggesting a possible design fault - sadly the boots have now split. Maybe the boots can't cope with Scottish Weather but I sadly would not recommend on the build quality... Maybe for a Summer Boot in dry climates?

Good and light. After these shoes, it no longer makes sense to wear other shoes. On the stem Plus, keep your feet dry even in the rain.

I wear a pair of Merrell Moab men's walking boots UK size 9, and have been advised by my podiatrist I should get a pair of Altra shoes instead as a foot problem I have needs more inside width to ensure it doesn't get worse. Are these size 9 Altra Lone Peak All-Weather Mid Trail Running Shoes wider inside than the Merrell Moabs I have?

Hello, yes, without a doubt they are wider at the front than the Merrel Moab. This specific model is very comfortable and has good water resistance. I had the opportunity to test them on some hikes in the Alps and they didn´t let me down. The grip is simply excellent. The only negative aspect, at least in my opinion, is the durability. They are not very durable. Either way, Moab are not durable either. I think that´s the price to pay when you have maximum comfort on your feet.

I´ve used Altra´s for several year now, I´m a woman and I buy both gender shoes, I pick the colors I like the most, the sizing is the same. Some models are wider than others, but I´ve never had problems with size, just follow Altra´s sizing orientations.
