The 2.5 version looks cheap but it is a rocket! Amazing fit, durable and light weight. All you need for a good time on the streets.

my first zero drop ,running shoes. did my first run and i am looking forward to next. cushioning is comfortable i just have to wait till my body adapts to zero drop ,and than i will try some 10+ k runs.
Alternation with other altras

I bought these shoes as a change from the Torin Plush 4.5. Those were my first Altra shoes, which I really liked. Before this, I ran on Vibram Fivefingers and Merrel Vapor Gloves. The reason that I switched to the Altra shoe is still a need for a little more cushioning, especially as distances increase and pace a bit slower. I then bought the Escalante 2.5 as an extra shoe, for the shorter training sessions. It is always good to alternate between several shoes if you run more often per week. I am also very satisfied with the Escalante 2.5, my feet also have sufficient freedom in this shoe. In terms of dimensions, these correspond to other brands, I (almost) always have 43 running shoes, also in the Altras. Very satisfied, also with the delivery.

I rotate a few different shoes to ease asphalt pounding on my feet. This one is becoming my popular choice along with Saucony Kinvara. Good cushioning in the middle and front supporting me in my running style. The foot shape helps me to decrease some usual rubbing on toes. Only one smaller drawback is that my orthotics do not fit well in the front part. Tried them up to 4min/km and the shoe still felt snappy and light on the feet. Might be ok also for some faster intervals.

The sneakers look good to me, I haven't tried them yet but compared to version 1.0 and 1.5 I have noticed an evolution in breathability and support in the sole.

Has run in Escalante 1 (1000 km) and has now bought 2.5. Am completely satisfied, I thought it is a little narrower midfoot than the 1st but it is fine. Both sizes 44.
From other escalating 1.5 to 2.5

I took the 2.5 after that with the 1.5 I did almost 800km and the sole no longer held so well; reading the negative reviews on 2.0, I jumped on the 2.5. I wear a 42 of normal shoes, and as usual I took an extra number, therefore 43. For now I have done a few km, good grip; they fit very well, from the outside it seems the midfoot area is a bit wider, but perhaps they still have to take shape.

my second pair of escalants. i really like the zero drop, cushioned sole with a wide toe box. i wear them pretty much everyday. after a year and a half the 1.5 still hold together, although they have lost some of the cushioning, and i got these. feels like a better build, and they are just as comfortable as the previous model.
