Escalante 1.5 is a men´s running shoe that incorporates important features. One of the characteristics that this shoe has for neutral pronators is that it has been created especially for the anatomy of the female foot.
The upper of the sports shoe includes mesh layers that make it a fully breathable piece that keeps your feet dry and fresh for longer. At the heel, this women´s shoe has a cup that improves the grip of the foot and facilitates the transition. As for its cushioning system, it includes the EGO midsole of the brand that provides high performance.
Inside, your feet will have more space; Toe Box technology allows you to improve the position of your fingers, keeping the big toe straight and also manages to provide you with greater stability and power at every step. This hiking shoe has a standard width and its closure is the traditional one with laces distributed along the instep.
The Escalante was such a hit that its hard to imagine it getting better, but believe it or not, it did! The 1.5 version features an updated knit with 360 degree reflectivity, increased breathability, tongue stay, new color patterns and sleeker heel cup. This new upper coupled with that same powerfully plush feeling of Altra EGO? under foot creates the perfect combo of high performance and comfort.

One of the best pairs from Altra so far. The shoes are super comfy and a perfect follow up on the first generation. Lightweight and decent colors that i mainly use for work and everyday life even though they are the perfect running shoes. The only is a bit the heel that is slightly firm and can cause an uncomfortable feeling up to skin irritations, no blister packs yet though.

These shoes are very comfortable. I really feel the difference when I wear standard shoes, those that before Altra´s I found comfy, now leave my feet hurting after walking a few minutes.

Old shoes that I leave for minimalist after 400 + km but that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to start running or go for a more natural, efficient and protective stride. Be careful to observe a transition period when switching to shoes with a high minimalist index. Educate yourself to avoid injury from too sudden a change.

Had read a lot of hype and had to try for myself. Amazing cushion and underfoot feel with spectacular grip. These shoes were even better than i expected. Feels like maximal cushioning in a normal spring shoe. I could run all day in them no worries. Only reservation is with the sloppy fit which is a bit of an Altra thing. Loose and overly padded around the heel allows a a bit of heel slip which works of any no show or tab socks. I have to wear above ankle socks with these. Can't fault the Runnerinn service.

excellent shoes for running on the flat. perfect comfort, the mesh is flexible and does not create friction, a little cushioning to make up to the half-marathon. the ankle is good and the lacing holds the foot well (no lateral movement). the footshape is extra and allows even better support. in conclusion: the best shoe i have worn! ps: be careful it's 0 drop, which requires a little transition if you're not used to it.

If you have not tried them, you are wasting your time. If you have had or have the first version, I do not have to expand on its qualities. super comfortable, very cushioned (tighter in the forefoot vertically than version 1, wide to have super-relaxed fingers, a generous midfoot that fits perfectly, and its classic 0 drop, which if you educate your foot progressively, you will not return to the drop, standard ... and to top it off you can even wear casual clothes ... for me it is the most comfortable shoe I've ever had footwear (and I already have a respectable amount).

Great shoes with no complaints! I followed the size guide and it directed me to a half size smaller for some reason, not sure if it was my oversight or runner inn's fit guide (probably me). I wish runner in just put US sizing for these shoes as it would've beeb much clearer and tge US size is in huge writing on the box. Lucky these are spacious in the toe box and they fit reasonably well, otherwise I'd recommend that you just stick with your normal size as they run true to size. These shoes are seriously great, even after the first run!!

These are great shoes up to 25k.Very fast and comfy. If you need longer races I will choose something with more cushion. While training for Marathon my feet hurt about the 30k Mark. These are my go to shoes when running on pavement.

Got a couple of the 1.0 generation and bought them as successors for running as well as for everyday life. There are hardly any more comfortable shoes. Unobtrusive color, excellent workmanship and more space for the toes than in any other shoe. They are a bit smaller than their predecessors, so maybe a half size up.

Compliant product, corresponding size, light, comfortable, 2 outings with since the purchase, a semi and a 10 km. Remains more than to test fast pace. I recommended for followers of zero drop. More comfortable than my previous merrell vapor glove 3 , minimalist without cushioning.

The product is good .. the only bad thing is that the EU size does not correspond to the stand of other brands when you want to see in US as is my case .. that is to say in other brands EU 43 is equivalent to US 9.5 ... but in this brand remake at US 10 !!!!!!!! If I had known I would have bought a smaller size ... they were very large

punctual shipping (although not the fastest). intact product, new and ready to use. on the shoe: it is always very difficult to review a running shoe after only four outings but we can say something. the comfort of the other escalante 1.5 is remarkable. it feels good in it. there is plenty of space for the feet sideways and the stretch canvas upper accommodates every strange protuberance of our foot both at standstill and during the race. going from the nike legend react 2 I did not have a callus, a rub, any kind of pain in the foot. to all this is added a certain lightness but above all a remarkable reactivity of the shoe that almost bounces with each stroke of the foot. for now I am therefore happy with the purchase and particularly surprised that going from drop, 9 mm to drop, 0 has not suffered even the slightest on shins or calves. but maybe it depends on the running style.

This version has more cushioning and better fit (which holds the foot better) than the Escalante v1.0. It is also more design with reflective strips, I'm a fan!

I wanted to try these escalante that had such good reviews and here I found them at a very good price. the shoes are very comfortable and with a perfect shape, at least for my foot. I use them for easy training days or a certain distance. I have not been persuaded for days of series, they lack "something", perhaps that's why the D altra released a racer version through the store all perfect: fast shipping and correct service.

first purchase on runnerinn. competitive price and prompt ,delivery. happy with the service provided. i bought the escalante 1.5 to replace the 1.0. in my opinion only a noticeable difference: the 1.0 were wider than the 1.5. i don't know why altra is narrowing the shoes at each model's new version. it seems they're dropping one of the two main brand's feature, which is a shame.

After two Other Paradigms I tried the Escalante. Same comfort for the foot (large toe box) and the same sensation and advantages of natural running (zero drop). Only the upper, less padded and drier, changes and the cushioning is less pasty and soft than the Paradigm. To evaluate the duration of the sole (with the Paradigm about 300 km). Beautiful even as everyday shoes.

This is my first pair of Altra, and I was not disappointed. The "zero drop" was not a problem for me, because my stride is rather light, and the "Ego" sole is very comfortable and has a lot of response! The manufacturing quality is good, no complaints. Perfect shoe for a little quick exits, because light and dynamic.

After reading a lot of reviews I decided to buy Altra Escalante ... Man ... Best decision ever! It´s really comfortable, the toe box is amazing ... I came from 2 Mizunos, wave rider and wave creation which were also amazing, but Altra is more comfortable ... 5 stars with a gold medal! It is a very comfortable shoe, feel like a glove. It is very soft, gives the feeling of landing in a cloud, more if you come from something more minimalist. It has a wide last that allows the mobility and the expansion of the fingers in support. the sizing is justito compared to other brands. the 0 drop is correct, in my case I do not usually use sneakers with heel so I have not needed adaptation. I have used them in three runs of 20k and well, correct!

these are brilliant! one of the most comfortable shoes i've ever worn (previous shoe was adidas boston boost) but they feel fast too. the zero drop ,will take a bit of getting used to for those who normallly run in high-heeled shoes but you should adapt quite quickly. fantastic!
